Game Licenses Approved in May 2026: 158 Titles Get Green Light, New Works by Tencent and NetEase Stand Out

On May 26, 2026, the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) released the approval results for online games in May 2026. A total of 158 games have obtained official licenses, including 154 domestic online games and 4 imported online games.
Among the approved domestic titles, new releases from leading game companies have drawn widespread attention. Chasing Kaledo developed by Tencent has successfully passed the review. Shadows in the Blade, a new Chinese folklore-themed game produced by NetEase Leihuo, also made the list and is highly anticipated. Other notable approved games include Battle Through the Heavens: Awakening and Superstar Football.
In terms of gaming platforms, mobile games account for the majority, covering a large number of casual puzzle titles. Several products are also available on PC clients and other platforms, catering to diverse gaming scenarios.
The four imported games support both mobile and PC platforms. Classic IP adaptations such as Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: Origins and Night Survivor are included, enriching the diversity of China’s gaming market.
