Dreamworks Animation Announces Cast On ‘The Bad Guys’

Dreamworks released casting details about The Bad Guys, its next feature film.The star cast includes Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Richard Ayoade, Zazie Beetz, Lilly Singh and Emmy award winner Alex Borstein.
The Bad Guys, based on the New York Times best-selling Scholastic book series by Aaron Blabey, is an action-packed heist for all ages that follows a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws as they attempt their most challenging con yet – becoming model citizens.
After a lifetime of pulling legendary heists, five notorious bad guys; Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula, attempt their most challenging job yet going good. Nobody has ever failed so hard at trying to be good as The Bad Guys.
Making his feature-directing debut, the film is directed by Pierre Perifel, the co-director of DWA’s award-winning short Bilby, and animator on the Kung Fu Panda films. It is produced by Damon Ross and Rebecca Huntley. Blabey, Etan Cohen, Patrick Hughes will executive produce.
It will be released on 15 April 2022 by Universal Pictures.
The Bad Guys is one of two films that the studio currently has slated for released next year; the other is Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which is due in fall 2022.
