Drawing/Graphic Arts: Opening of an African Webtoons Competition
The African Webtoon Competition is making its debut with a first edition scheduled for November 28 and 29, 2024, on the sidelines of the African Webtoon Days.
Organized by Studio 6 in partnership with the Ivorian NGO Choukouci, this event aims to boost the webtoon scene in Africa and promote the creation of original and quality content.
Comic strip artists and illustrators from Africa, aged 18 and over, will be able to compete in one of the three categories offered: short webtoon, long webtoon and student webtoon which for this edition will be exclusively reserved for Ivorian students.
Contest winners will have the chance to win prizes including graphics tablets, licenses for webtoon creation software, and a mentoring session dedicated to drawing and writing techniques specific to this format.
Interested parties have until October 31 to submit a webtoon episode, whether unpublished or already published on a platform.
Details regarding the rules and registration form are available on the official website .
