Dongbuzhou Incubation Project

The original intention of Dongbuzhou international animation incubator creation base is to encourage and support the outstanding animation people who are in original creation and development, especially young new animation people, to power “the first one kilometer”, support the creation of the commercial animation and hatch, and at the same time pay more attention to the development of the original independent animation. It hopes that China independent animation creation can go further.

The independent animation project Screen is created by independent animation director Cai Caibei which selected by the base in late 2020. At present, according to the latest news released by the organizing committee, Screen has been shortlisted in the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) Non-narrative Short Film Competition. Ottawa International Animation Festival is one of the four major Animation film festivals in the world, together with Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Zagreb International Animation Film Festival and Hiroshima International Animation Film Festival. The Ottawa Animation Festival is designed to encourage individual, thoughtful and critical work. This year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) runs from September 21 to 25.

Cui Wenzi Learns Fairy, an independent animation project that was selected by the base in 2021,which explores the relationship between human beings and natural energy fields. It’s based on a story in the strange novel “Soushen Ji”. So far, the Film has been selected for the Encounters Film Festival in the UK and the Savigny Animation Film Festival in Switzerland.

Cui Wenzi Xuxian will be screened offline at Watershed in Bristol, UK, on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:00 am, as part of the Encounters Film Festival’s “Children’s Jury” section, It will also be screened online by the official organizing committee through Eventive.
