Cyberpunk 2077 Will Receive Free Post Launch Updates and Multiplayer

CD Projekt RED has now confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer is in fact in development and will come after the release of the game in April. In a series of tweets, the company confirmed that multiplayer will be on its way along with free post-launch updates and DLC.
It was previously not confirmed if the game would ever receive a multiplayer option, even though the developers had said that they were exploring the possibilities of introducing multiplayer component. The tweets, however, put all rumors to rest as some sort of multiplayer will be heading to the game.
The official confirmation was made on the CD Projekt RED Twitter account,
Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer’s in the works! If you feel like lending us your skills apply. The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.
What is even better is that the developer also confirms free post-launch DLC that will be making its way after the release of the game in April next year. This is welcome news for everyone as it is yet to be seen what the DLC may contain. We expect cosmetic items along with newer weapons, challenges and game modes that may feature some multiplayer options.
CD Projekt RED also hinted about recruiting people to lend their skills in the development of the multiplayer components for the game. This only suggests that the development is in the early stages and might be so for quite some time, well after the release of the game.
