China-US Co-produced Animated Film “My Ne Zha and Transformers” Set for December 6 Release

The China-US co-produced animated film My Ne Zha and Transformers has officially announced its release date and is set to premiere on December 6. The film innovatively blends Ne Zha, a classic figure from Chinese mythology, with the globally renowned IP Transformers, and has attracted significant attention since the project’s inception.

It is reported that the collaboration began in 2017. After the release of the first trailer in 2019, scenes featuring Ne Zha fighting alongside Transformers characters such as Bumblebee and Optimus Prime quickly sparked widespread discussion and anticipation. The film creatively merges the young hero Ne Zha from Investiture of the Gods with Hasbro’s Transformers series, aiming to deliver a unique cross-cultural animation experience. The storyline follows Ne Zha and the Transformers as they form an alliance to combat antagonistic forces. A new elementary school student character is introduced as the narrative perspective, weaving together the adventure of cross-cultural character interactions through a child’s imaginative lens.

As a major project backed by international toy company Hasbro, My Ne Zha and Transformers has undertaken comprehensive commercial planning alongside its content development. A series of toys and derivative products based on the animated characters have already been launched in the domestic market, including Ne Zha in Transformer form and transformable Wind Fire Wheels, further expanding the IP’s value chain.
