Today, WAIC 2018 (hereinafter referred to as the Conference) opened in Shanghai. The conference was co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Network Office, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. As it is one of the few high-level technological events in a year, the Internet giants – BATJ – attended it as expected. Li Yanhong, Ma Yun, Ma Huateng, and other people showed up, as is shown in the following postures. Their arguments may soon be proved by the times.

The new “modernization” equals AI

——“With the rapid progress of AI technology in recent years, the benign circumstance between algorithms, HashRate and data have increasingly strong impacts on industrial upgrading and economic transformation, and will provide new impetus for industrial and economic development in the next few decades.  It can be said that no company in the future can claim to have nothing to do with AI.”

– “Today the definition of ‘modernization’ has changed, mostly equal to AI.”

——“For companies dedicated to AI, on the one hand, it is necessary to efficiently and continuously accumulate a large number of high-quality and unique data, which motivates innovations of AI applications. On the other hand, it is also necessary to connect AI technologies and AI platforms, making profits from the data in an open way with AI.”
