“Avatar: The Way of Water.”

It has been officially announced in mainland China that “Avatar: The Way of Water” will air on December 16, synchronously with North America!

“Avatar: The Way of Water” is 190 minutes long, presenting a new underwater world and a brand-new experience. The trailer, released online, received 148.6 million views worldwide within 24 hours.

“Avatar 2” cost 2.2 billion yuan, or about $310 million compared to “Avatar 1”, which cost $237 million to produce. “Avatar 2”would have to become the third or fourth highest grossing film in history to compensate the high production cost.

On the occasion of last year’s “Avatar” re-release, director James Cameron also sent greetings to Chinese audiences from the set of the “Avatar” sequel in New Zealand. He said that the sequel will continue to develop the planet Pandora with huge progress in visual effects. The characters will look more realistic and exactly the same as real people, and the sequel will be the best 3D viewing experience.

As a big production film with brilliant special effects, imagination is the signature feature of the series.

The shock brought about by the mysterious and unpredictable planet Pandora and the countless exclamations of awe are still fresh in fans’ minds.

In “Avatar 2”, Cameron continues to explore the beauty of the planet. For example, the first trailer shows Pandora’s mysterious “sky world”.

In the following sequel, Pandora’s crystal clear ocean, and its magnificent and strange landforms are successively displayed. “Avatar 2” also has a new visual content focus. Like its name, “The Way of Water”, the sequel will focus on Pandora’s underwater world.

The underwater world of Avatar 2 overall reveals a fresh style. The light blue sea water, penetrated by bright sunlight, makes the underwater world look fresh, interesting and ethereal.

Here, the Na’vi people interact with large Marine creatures, explaining the beauty of the harmony between nature and living creatures.

In the film, the underwater world is not only a scenic background, it is also an important battlefield.

The film’s success owes largely to director James Cameron, a Canadian film director, film producer, writer, and deep-sea explorer.

Cameron was known as the “King of the box office”. Titanic, Terminator, Alien II, Avatar have left enough impression on fans of all generations.

“Titanic”, released in 1997, grossed over $2.2 billion worldwide.

James Cameron’s “Avatar” came out at the end of 2009, and 39 days later, it earned $1.859 billion which broke the previous top record of the global box office that had remained unbroken for 12 years with his 1997 movie, “Titanic.”

By 1994, Cameron had already created an 80-page plan for the Avatar, but it was shelved due to limited technology.

As CGI and action capture performances grew rapidly, Cameron decided to “revive Pandora” after the full action capture performance of Grum in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and David Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean: The coffin of the Soul (2006).

Avatar has achieved many initiatives: independent development of 3D photography systems, motion capture, and so on. It is the first international blockbuster to popularize 3D technology.

Cameron, who has high standards for details, does everything from the world view, sets, actors, graphics, music… as perfectly as possible, and all the actors in the film are trained and studied for their characters. In the film, any dream can become a reality through technology.

The shooting and production of the film were postponed again and again due to the large screenwriting quantity and technical restrictions. Now, the announcement of the official release has left many fans extremely excited.
