“and Roger” Wins GDCA Audience Award, Receives BAFTA Nomination
Commemorative Trailer Released as Global Sales Surpass 100,000 Units

The critically acclaimed interactive visual novel “and Roger” has achieved new international recognition! At the Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) 2026, held on March 13 (Beijing time) in San Francisco, the game won the prestigious “Audience Award.” On the same day, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced its latest nominations for the BAFTA Games Awards, with “and Roger” receiving a nomination in the “Game Beyond Entertainment” category.
To commemorate these achievements and celebrate global sales surpassing 100,000 units, the official release of a commemorative trailer highlights player reactions, media praise, and the awards the game has received to date.
Dual Triumph in Player Support and Market Performance
Since its release in July 2025, “and Roger” has rapidly sparked discussion among players worldwide with its unique emotional experience and innovative interactive narrative style. Following gameplay videos by popular creators such as Pocky-san and Daichi Miura, the game has been hailed as “a game that can make you cry in an hour.” Related content has surpassed 10 million total views across major social media platforms.
On Steam, the game maintains an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating, holding a 95%+ approval rate as of February 25, 2026. Surpassing 100,000 units in global sales further confirms the profound emotional power contained within this compact and beautiful work.
International Acclaim and Awards
As an authoritative award voted on by game developers worldwide, the GDCA is often referred to as the “Oscars of the gaming industry.” The “Audience Award” won by “and Roger” is determined by a global player vote, representing the most direct recognition from the gaming community. Additionally, the game was a finalist for the “Social Impact Award,” a category honoring titles that advance ideals of equality, justice, and diversity.
The BAFTA Games Awards nomination for “Game Beyond Entertainment” recognizes “and Roger” for providing a “gaming experience that transcends entertainment,” further cementing its unique position in terms of artistic value and humanistic concern.
To date, “and Roger” has accumulated a total of 13 international awards and nominations, including the Grand Prix at Tokyo Game Show’s “Sense of Wonder Night,” the Grand Prix at Taipei Game Show’s Indie Game Award, and the “Emotional Impact” award at The Indie Game Awards.
Game Overview: A Journey into Cognition and Understanding
“and Roger” is an interactive visual novel where players advance the story simply by pressing on-screen buttons. Players step into the perspective of a young girl who, on what should be an ordinary morning, finds her father missing and a strange man in his place.
Through simple interactive choices, players gradually delve into a disjointed conversation, uncover the mystery of the man’s identity, and experience the latent “distortion” within human cognition. Featuring a high-contrast, hand-drawn visual style, the game tells an unforgettable story about love, grace, and understanding.
The game supports 9 languages—Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Korean—allowing players worldwide to enjoy the experience without barriers.
