The Shenzhen preliminary round of the 2025 China·Nanning Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “HaiChuang Competition”), themed “AI Empowers All Industries,” concluded successfully on Aug15 at Kexing Science Park in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence technologies with cross-border industries, the competition openly selects outstanding overseas innovation and entrepreneurship talents and projects to inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Nanning, Guangxi.
Competition Highlights: AI + Cross-Border, Creating a New Hub for Talent Gathering
As one of the signature tracks of the HaiChuang Competition, this year’s event introduced the “AI Empowers All Industries Super League – Cross-Border Talent Track” for the first time, attracting over 80 high-tech projects from the Greater Bay Area. These projects covered:

- AI + Modern Agriculture: Technologies like smart planting and cross-border traceability of agricultural products
More than 70% of the core team members of the participating projects had overseas study or work experience, while 30% of the projects had secured Pre-A round or higher financing.
Policy Support: Comprehensive Assistance for Project Implementation
Representatives from relevant departments in Nanning emphasized during the event promotion that outstanding projects would enjoy the “Three Priorities” policy support:
- Funding Support: Up to 10 million yuan in project funding and industrial development funds
- Site Guarantee: Priority access to platforms such as the China-ASEAN Digital Economy Industrial Park
- Support Services: Comprehensive services including talent apartments, children’s education, and tax incentives
A previous winning project, the “ASEAN Language Intelligent Translation Platform,” has already been established in Nanning, achieving annual revenue exceeding 50 million yuan.
Expert Reviews: Balancing Technological Innovation and Market Application
The chairman of the judging panel, a partner at a renowned venture capital firm, noted: “The participating projects not only demonstrate high technological sophistication but also a deep understanding of the ASEAN market, aligning perfectly with Nanning’s strategy to build an international metropolis oriented toward ASEAN.” Several judges paid special attention to the practical application scenarios of AI technology in cross-border industrial chains.
Competition Outcomes: 30 Projects Advance to Finals
After intense competition, 30 high-quality projects successfully advanced to the finals, which will be held in Nanning in September 2025. These projects generally feature:
- Independent and controllable core technologies
