Acorn TV acquires hit ABC series Aftertaste
Sydney, Australia: ABC Commercial has announced the sale of their hilarious scripted comedy Aftertaste (4K or HD 6×30′) to US streaming giant Acorn TV.
Set in the stunning Adelaide Hills wine region of Australia and featuring a cast of diverse international characters the story follows universally renowned yet volatile celebrity chef, Easton West’s spectacular fall from grace. Humiliated he return to his hometown where he endeavors to rebuild his career and restore his reputation, with the help of his talented, young, pastry-chef niece Diana.
Easton realises that Diana represents everything he’s not – young, female and fresh – and takes her under his wing in an effort to crawl his way back to relevance. But what price is Diana, on the cusp of becoming a prodigy, willing to pay to work with her infamously difficult uncle?
Darkly humorous, Aftertaste reflects the international relevance and appeal of ‘foodie culture’. From Closer Productions, the multi award-winning production company known for distinctive content that resonates strongly with international audiences, Aftertaste stars Erik Thomson, Natalie Abbott and Rachel Griffiths.
