Publisher Yogscast Games and Gamersky are pleased to announce that a playable demo for The Gate Must Stand is available now on Steam. The Gate Must Stand reimagines tower defense games through a survivor-like lens, thrusting players into the centre of the action. As the city’s last line, warriors must recruit followers, unlock upgrades, and synergise skills to hold the line against hordes of apocalyptic bosses.

This roguelike centres on a single objective: ensure the gate never falls. Players must defend one critical chokepoint against escalating enemy attacks, deploying strategies that demand teamwork, collective decision-making, and carefully chosen upgrades. Weapons selected, decisions made, and strategies deployed affect each run, forcing players to adapt amid an action-packed environment.

The demo allows players to experience the game’s mechanics and systems, and to get a sense of what awaits them beyond the gate. Victory depends on more than pure skill; calculated decisions while choosing the right weapons, modifiers, and upgrades make every attempt feel distinct and active.
