AI Reshapes Filmmaking: How Kling AI Empowers Creators Beyond Budget and Time Limits

The Amazon Prime Video series House of David, released earlier this year, leveraged artificial intelligence to generate dozens of its final shots—marking another step in AI’s growing integration into creative production.
Among the AI tools used by indie studio The Wonder Project was Kling AI, a generative video platform helping filmmakers realize visual ambitions often constrained by schedule and cost.
“AI allowed us to tell the story within a feasible budget and timeline,” said Jon Erwin, the series creator and co-showrunner. “It lets you dream in real time and collaborate on material much faster.”
As AI tools become commonplace in professional content creation, Kling AI positions itself as part of an “AI-plus-creator” workflow—enhancing, not replacing, human creativity.
“Kling AI helps creators accomplish things that were previously out of reach,” noted Yushen Zeng, Head of Operations at Kling AI. “It acts as a creative partner, boosting directors’ productivity and transforming the filmmaking process.”
The platform is now used across pre-production, production, and post-production by a wide range of users—from agencies working with global brands like Coca-Cola and Nike, to game developers, indie creators, and major studio productions.
During pre-production, Kling AI enables rapid visualization and storyboard iteration. It can generate realistic video clips—such as explosions, car chases, or helicopter shots—for action-heavy sequences. It also creates sound effects, animates characters, and syncs lip movements. In essence, the tool helps filmmakers achieve high-end visuals without the typical cost or time limitations.
“We’re building a one-stop AI creative suite,” Zeng explained. “From idea to image to final video—everything can be created inside Kling AI. We’re continuously raising industry standards in image quality, motion, and aesthetics, while giving creators greater control over video generation.”
Building a Global Creator Ecosystem
Kling AI is also investing in the creative community through funding initiatives and promotional campaigns. Its “Bring Your Vision to Screen” program, launched in April 2025, attracted over 2,000 submissions from 60 countries. Winning works were displayed on public screens in Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Toronto.
In a collaboration with Beijing-based Outliers Studio, Kling AI co-created the seven-part anthology series Loading…, using AI to construct scenes that would be difficult or costly to build physically. Since its global YouTube release in July, the series has amassed 200 million views.
Last December, Kling AI partnered with acclaimed director Jia Zhangke and Oscar-winning art director Timmy Yip (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) to release nine AI-generated short films—an early experiment in human-machine co-creation.
The company has also built a strong presence at international industry events, including the Busan International Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival, and Mipcom in Cannes.
Currently, Kling AI can generate 10-second HD video clips. The long-term goal is to produce full-length videos with complete AI-generated sound and imagery.
“We’re continuously improving our model’s capabilities while keeping it cost-effective for users across the industry,” Zeng said.
Powering the Future of Creation
Kling AI now supports a community of over 45 million content creators and has powered the creation of more than 200 million videos and 400 million images.
“We’ve integrated over ten major video-generation models, and videos made with Kling AI outnumber all others combined,” said Joaquín Cuenca Abela, CEO of Freepik, a global creative platform and enterprise user. “Kling AI stands out for its rendering speed, prompt accuracy, and exceptional camera control.”
Freepik is one of more than 20,000 enterprise customers worldwide using Kling AI across various sectors.
In a further effort to foster AI filmmaking talent, Kling AI recently launched the Next Gen Creative Contest. Winners will be featured at Mipcom and the Tokyo International Film Festival, empowering a new wave of creators to push boundaries and shape the future of AI-driven storytelling.
