According to filings with the National Radio and Television Administration and joint announcements from leading animation studios, six highly anticipated domestic animated series have entered the final stages of production and are set to be released sequentially next year. Spanning genres such as mythology, sci-fi, historical fiction, and suspense, these works showcase the increasingly sophisticated technical prowess and narrative ambition of Chinese animation.

Among the announced titles are two adaptations of works by acclaimed author “Fenghuo Xizhuhou,” including the highly praised ensemble epic Snowy Streak Roaming the Rivers and Lakes (Xue Zhong Han Xing) and the second season of Swordcoming (Jian Lai). Also featured are the final installment of the Shading the Sky (Zhe Tian) trilogy, Sacred Ruins (Sheng Xu)—the first novel on the Qidian platform to surpass 10 million fans—and the infinity flow masterpiece Samsara (Lun Hui). The list continues with the third season of the visually stunning Juang Si Liang, titled Descent of Divinity (Shen Ling Jiang Lin), an adaptation of the classic and immensely successful xianxia series Chinese Paladin 3 (Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan San), and the dark fantasy Seeking Demons (Qiu Mo) by web author Er Gen. Additionally, audiences can look forward to Thief Bizarre Immortal (Dao Gui Yi Xian), based on what is hailed as one of the most intense and thrilling web novels, and Mysterious Revival (Shen Mi Fu Su), renowned as one of the most horror-filled stories in recent years. The much-acclaimed Blades of the Guardians (Biao Ren II) rounds out the list, with all titles already generating significant buzz ahead of their premieres.

Industry insiders note that many of these productions are being developed in 4K HDR, with some utilizing AI-assisted workflows, signaling a new phase in the industrialization of Chinese animation. It has also been revealed that all six titles have secured pre-sale agreements with international streaming platforms and will be released simultaneously in global markets.

The collective advancement of Chinese animation in 2026 promises not only a visual and auditory feast for audiences but also serves as a significant vehicle for the global dissemination of Chinese culture.
