TGDC: The Gaming Industry Sees Constant Breakthrough Innovations Ahead with Technological Leaps
Cutting-edge technology is going to lead to constant breakthrough innovations in the gaming sector in the near-future, developers predicted at this year’s Tencent Game Developers Conference (TGDC).
TGDC 2022, the annual event for global game developers, publishers and operators to share latest experience and knowledge was held as a two-day online event on August 16 and 17. Organized by the Tencent Institute of Games, more than 20 global game industry experts and scholars attended, offering 17 keynotes that took forward-looking views on the games sector.
“With the continuous technological advancement and innovative thinking, games are becoming a Hyper Digital Reality that could drive the advancement of cutting-edge technology and constantly create new values and possibilities.” said Sammi Xia, vice president of Tencent Games and head of Tencent Institute of Games.
Xia said that through the TGDC, more game industry practitioners and professionals will come together, helping both the industry and broader society to have a deeper understanding of video games and build a better digitally oriented society together.
TGDC 2022 aimed to stimulate the creativity, imagination, insight, technology, influence, and cohesion of the games sector together with the world’s top game practitioners, experts, and scholars. Attendees looked at the sector’s developments and future from five different angles – Product, Technology, Art, Indie Game and Advocacy, hoping to broaden its boundaries and possibilities.
Since it launched in 2017, TGDC has strived to build an open discussion platform for global game professionals, based on users’ insights and the needs. Moving forward, TGDC will continue to serve the global game industry.
