Multichoice wants to increase the skills of television actors in Africa
The South African operator, MultiChoice , has announced the launch of a new training initiative aimed at improving the skills of players in the television sector in Africa.
The program will be furnished with online courses , masterclasses and hands-on training in several critical production areas, such as post-production, sound , scriptwriting , 3D animation and cinematography.
The implementation of the project will be done in close collaboration with local television stations in various African countries. According to Multichoice, local broadcasters are the backbone of the television industry in every country. Strengthening this industry would then mean creating more local jobs, raising the level of productions and allowing this industry to contribute to the economy and meet the continued demand of consumers for quality local entertainment.
“Our vision is to raise the level of productions across Africa . This will exponentially boost the film and television industry in Africa. Because the more people you train, the more you are motivated to launch projects, and everyone benefits, including viewers ,” said Fhulufhelo Badugela, CEO of MultiChoice Africa.
The training will reach a total of 300 broadcast workers who are already producing content in their local markets, depending on skills needs. The latter will thus be able to instantly apply their learning to national productions.
