RUSSIAN WWII ACTION “THE PILOT: A BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL” GOES TO USA, EUROPE AND ASIA
Leading American distributor Well Go USA Entertainment nabs all North American rights to Russian WWII actioner “The Pilot: A Battle for Survival.” The WWII feature, directed by Renat Davletyarov, centers on an IL-2 pilot who crash-lands in a remote forest clearing after an air assault and must find his way back to friendly territory while battling hunger and extreme cold and evading packs of wolves and detachments of Nazi soldiers. The lead role is performed by Pyotr Fyodorov (“Sputnik,” “The Blackout”).
“‘The Pilot: A Battle for Survival’ is a gripping story of survival, bravery and sacrifice in the face of chilling circumstances, made even more riveting due to its depiction of actual historical events,” said Doris Pfardrescher, President and CEO at Well Go USA. “This is a film that deserves a wide audience, and we are thrilled to work alongside Central Partnership to make ‘The Pilot’ available to North American viewers.”
The film co-produced by Interfest, Star Media and DaProduction, is distributed by Central Partnership.
“As action-packed as the film is, it’s not only compelling due to high production value and dynamic plot, but also a strong yet relatable character – the feature is inspired by a true survival story. That’s the kind of national content we are keen on releasing internationally – high-end entertainment with a human story behind it,” says Vadim Vereshchagin, CEO of Central Partnership.
Koch Media will release “The Pilot: A Battle for Survival” in the United Kingdom, Italy and Switzerland.
“Koch Films are thrilled to be bringing this powerful story and this excellent film to the Italian and UK audiences soon”, says Stephen Joy, Head Of Acquisitions & Sales UK Film.
The title has also been picked up for Japan by New Select, for South Korea by BoXoo Entertainment, Czech Republic and Slovakia by Foxx Media Group and former Yugoslavia by Stars Media.
