Chinese Game Wins Apple Design Award After 4 Years – “Infinity Nikki” Takes Honors

Recently, Apple officially announced the winners of its 2025 Apple Design Awards, with Paper Games’ Infinity Nikki securing the award in the “Visuals and Graphics” category. Notably, this marks the first time in four years that a Chinese-developed game has claimed this prestigious honor. Infinity Nikki is the world’s first multi-platform open-world game built on Unreal Engine 5. Apple’s judging panel praised the game for its innovative core gameplay—centered around collecting stylish outfits instead of weapons—along with its stunning visuals and comfortable aesthetic, calling it a rare gem among mobile games.
Winning the Apple Design Award not only elevates Paper Games’ brand reputation but also highlights the design prowess of Chinese game developers, offering a fresh pathway for cultural exports.
In other categories, Taobao (Vision Pro Edition) won the “Excellence in Interaction” award, while CapWords (Learn Vocabulary with Stickers) was named “Delight and Fun” App of the Year.
This year’s Apple Design Awards featured six categories:
- Delight and Fun
- Innovation
- Interaction
- Inclusivity
- Social Impact
- Visuals and Graphics
Each category recognized one outstanding app and one outstanding game, selected from 36 finalists worldwide—all of which showcased exceptional design and user experience.
