The Importance of Project Based Learning

In the ever changing landscape of modern ‘knowledge economy’, work is increasingly becoming reliant on some unique human brain strengths such as solving non standard problems, flexibility, working with new information and effective communication. Besides these skills, the strength of working in teams, self-confidence, critical thinking and perseverance are some of the essential skills needed for job success today.

While some of these skills are acquired in the traditional education model, many of them are learned and inculcated in a non-traditional education model called Project Based Learning (PBL) or real-world learning. By connecting academic learning to the real world, PBL ingrains early on multiple problem-solving skills, iterative learning, and interpersonal skills, which drastically increases the chances of success in the learners’ careers.

As part of our CSR, InApp has been promoting the PBL approach to learning in academia through its National Student Project Awards. Every year, we invite original and challenging projects for the competition from engineering students all across India. In addition to being a platform for students to solve real world problems in the areas of AI, IoT, Blockchain and AR/VR, it is an opportunity for them to hone their skills to succeed in the jobs of tomorrow.
