STUDIO GHIBLI’S LATEST JOINS MAF 2023 LINE-UP
MAF 2023 is delighted to reveal that Studio Ghibli’s highly anticipated new film The Boy and the Heron will have a special preview screening at MAF 2023!
Following a string of appearances at film festivals across the world MAF becomes the first animation festival in Europe to screen the eagerly awaited feature from Hayao Miyazaki.
A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.
Join us on Wed 15 Nov at 20:30 for this not-to-be-missed event. Single tickets are very low and passholders need to claim their allocation FAST!
Besides, for two decades Magic Light Pictures have brought audiences old and young together through their enchanting animations. We’ve grappled with the Gruffalo, found Room on the Broom, discovered the family tree with Stick Man, pilfered sweet treats with the Highway Rat, flown high with Zog, met Snails, Whales, Superworms, Smeds, Smoos and even found time to recite Revolting Rhymes!
On Mon 13 Nov at 16:00, join company co-founders Martin Pope and Michael Rose as we take a look back on 20 years through film and learn the story of the studio and how a working friendship led to one of the most successful animation production studios in British history.
