Studio Far Out Games has had a rapid rise.
Studio Far Out Games has had a rapid rise. A successful pitch meeting in San Francisco secured a contract with the industry giant Konami. Together, they’ve just announced the highly anticipated game Deliver At All Costs.
“The future looks bright for us,” says Lars Olsson, the company’s CEO.
It all began at Yrgo vocational school in Gothenburg, Sweden, back in 2021. A group of classmates connected during a school project, which attracted a great deal of attention from both the press and game publishers. This led to the founding of Studio Far Out Games, which soon became part of the Sweden Game Startup program.
“Being part of the incubator really helped us move forward at a strong pace. The support we received and the opportunity to make key industry contacts made all the difference,” says CEO Lars Olsson.
Hitting the Jackpot at GDC
In their very first year at the incubator, Far Out Games was invited to attend the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco in the spring of 2022. There, they pitched their game concept and connected with legendary game company Konami. After a successful pitch and subsequent conversations, they secured a publishing deal with the Japanese gaming giant. Following two additional years of work within the incubator, they moved out this past spring. In September this year, they were finally able to publicly reveal their major partnership with Konami. What began with a pitch in the U.S. had now become big news in game media worldwide.
“It was an amazing experience to finally talk about what we’ve been so deeply invested in for years. The collaboration has been fantastic, thanks in part to our strong performance in delivering high-quality work at every milestone. We’ve consistently over-delivered, which has only increased Konami’s confidence in us,” says Lars Olsson.
Deliver At All Costs – The Game Everyone’s Talking About
When Deliver At All Costs, the game co-created with Konami, was unveiled, top gaming media were invited to preview the first 90 minutes at an exclusive reveal event in London. Reviews soon followed, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. Outlets like Screenrant, PC Gamer, and Gamereactor have all praised the game – and in a big way.
“We feel the reception couldn’t have been better so far. Alongside the reveal of our game, Konami also showcased new Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill games. No disrespect to those titles at all, but multiple journalists noted that our game was the one that left the biggest impression. We were completely blown away, and we’re thrilled to bring this excitement to players when the game is released!”
What’s Deliver At All Costs All About?
“It’s a completely wild game, set in a dynamic, highly interactive world. Everything in the game environment is destructible – from buildings to large structures. The main character, Winston Green, transitions from engineering school to driving a delivery truck. As the game progresses, players learn more about his mysterious past.”
With a game developed in partnership with one of the world’s biggest gaming companies and stellar reviews from high-profile game media, Studio Far Out Games undoubtedly has an exciting future ahead.
“We have tons of bold and thrilling ideas and projects in the works. Nothing is finalized or public just yet, but keep an eye on our website for updates. You can already check out the trailer and pre-order a physical copy of the game there.”
A Bright Future for a Tight-Knit Team
Lars Olsson concludes:
“The future looks bright for us. Today, we’re a team of 13, and we’ve grown into a really close-knit, well-coordinated group. We push each other in the best ways and don’t settle for just ‘good enough.’”
Far Out Games is a close-knit team. Here are four of the company’s 13 team members, from left to right: Lars Olsson (CEO), Jonatan Johansson (Technical Director), Jimmy Hultén (Art and Narrative Director), and Daniel Nielsen (Game Director).
