The FFAA or Abidjan Animation Film Festival is an important cultural event which offers its participants another vision of animation

The FFAA announced the 7th edition of the Abidjan Animation Film Festival (FFAA), scheduled from April 29 to May 5, 2024.

The session began at 3 p.m. with a welcome from Mr. Yann Kouassi, representative of Majestic cinema . Subsequently, Mr. Abel Kouamé, also known as Kan Souffle, President of the FFAA Organizing Committee and Managing Director of the Afrika Toon studio, took the floor to present the festival in every detail.

Throughout the interventions, the ceremony revealed the official selection for this 7th edition, including more than 70 films from more than 31 countries, including around ten African nations. These works will enrich the official competitions and screenings during this event.

The rest of the ceremony was marked by a dynamic exchange between the festival organizers and the participants. Mr. Kouamé responded kindly to the questions and concerns expressed, highlighting the impact of the FFAA in the field of animation in Côte d’Ivoire and Africa.

As for the prospects of this new edition, an attractive catalog has been unveiled, offering activities such as general public screenings, conferences, pitch competitions, training and master classes led by experienced experts and technicians. These activities will take place respectively at the French Institute, Orange Digital center and in the Majestic Ficgayo and Sococé cinemas.

In conclusion, a vibrant appeal was launched to Ivorian creators, in particular to the students of ISTC and IUA present during the ceremony. They were encouraged to join the animation sector and invest in increasing the representativeness of Côte d’Ivoire in future editions of the FFAA.
