“Paddington in Peru “, a Live-Action Animated Adventure Comedy Film

When the first “Paddington Bear” was released in China in 2015, it received high praise from a large number of audiences for its humorous story and warm, healing theme. In 2017, “Paddington Bear 2” surpassed its predecessor and achieved an impressive box office performance, further endearing this kind and brave top-streaming little bear to Chinese viewers.

After a seven-year hiatus, the live-action  animated adventure comedy film “Paddington  in Peru”, directed by Doug Wilson and featuring the voice of Ben Whishaw, with Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman and others in starring roles, is set to make a grand return this winter, officially scheduled for release on January 1, 2025.

As a family-friendly series, “Paddington Bear” tells the story of Paddington’s journey to a new home and how he is warmed by love. “Paddington 2” depicted Paddington’s quest to find a place to belong in a foreign land. From London to Peru, what was supposed to be a happy visit to Aunt Lucy unexpectedly turns into a thrilling adventure to find the “Land of Gold”. As the adventure escalates, the bond between Paddington and the Brown family deepens, and the warmth and tenderness in the film will once again touch the softest part of the audience’s hearts, not only giving children pure and kind spiritual enlightenment but also allowing adult viewers to shake off their troubles and stress at the end of the year, setting happiness at the top for the new year!

As one of the world’s most beloved cartoon characters, Paddington Bear’s story has a history of nearly 70 years. With his furry appearance, funny and amusing actions, and pure and kind heart, Paddington has won the love of fans around the world. He is upright, kind, and brave, making every viewer feel happiness and joy when they see him. Always keeping a childlike heart, Paddington shows more of his bravery and persistence in this adventure, allowing the audience to see a “bear with a bear’s determination”. Moreover, Paddington always does the most “funny” things in the most critical moments, such as “steering” a boat, “riding” a sheep, and making a “parachute” by himself… The “troublesome” scenes of this “bear child” are hilarious, and it is believed that such a clumsy but adorable “bear child” will bring the strongest “cute healing” power to Chinese audiences on New Year’s Day.

Visually, the film still showcases the elegant and retro British style. In addition, from the unfathomable Amazon rainforest to the misty peaks of Peru, it allows the audience to immerse themselves in the mysterious and beautiful scenery of Peru. To better present the visuals, the production team traveled to Peru and Colombia for location shooting, and combined with exquisite CGI and ingenious scene layout, they skillfully incorporated many local cultural elements, allowing the audience to enjoy a visual and auditory feast while experiencing the exotic charm.

The film ingeniously poses a choice to Paddington: between his current life and his original tribe. Through a “roots-seeking” journey back home, Paddington gains a newer and deeper understanding of his identity and family, more deeply immersing himself in the identity of the “foreigner” Paddington, embarking on the most healing journey, making both children and adults “bear-hearted” and full of good luck in the new year. Many foreign audiences believe that this film has brought a fresh experience to the viewers. The story is more thrilling. The humorous and funny parts in the film as well as the sincere emotions among family members are also very touching.
