NG22 Helsinki: A promising Finnish debut
The annual Nordic Game conference in Malmö, Sweden is one of Europe’s leading games industry events, gathering thousands of developers each May. This November though, Nordic Game travelled to Helsinki for a special show as a partner side event to the renown start-up festival Slush. More than 400 industry peers gathered for our Finnish premiere.
NG22 Helsinki took place on 15-16 November at historic Hotel Kämp in the city center, but kicked-off the evening before at popular sauna and restaurant Löyly, where more than 100 invited guests met for dinner and networking, graciously hosted by Xsolla.
Then on 15 November, the main event began with a string of executive events for leaders of game companies in Finland and the rest of the world. Organised with Neogames and moderated by Sonja Ängeslevä, CEO & co-founder of Phantom Gamelabs (FI) and Anette Ståløy, CMO at Dirtybit (NO) with special guest Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen, the discussion focused on current industry challenges, trends and opportunities – more here.
After the Executive Summit and activities, the doors opened for Publisher Market, hosted by Nordic Game in partnership with MeetToMatch. With dozens of meetings scheduled, Publisher Market in Helsinki provided developers with a great opportunity to present their projects to a string of leading game publishers.
Later the same day, Nordic Game threw an after-hours party at Club Haave, generously supported by i3D.net and Xsolla. Several hundred NG22 Helsinki participants gathered to mingle and sing their hearts out, as Nordic Game maraoke also made its debut in the Finnish capital, hosted by none other than the legendary Ste Curran
NG22 Helsinki concluded on 16 November with an entire day of business meetings, powered by MeetToMatch. Over 350 meetings were held during the event.
We warmly thank our NG22 Helsinki sponsors, partners and not least of all participants for their support. We couldn’t have done this without you!
NG22 Helsinki was presented with the support of our sponsors including AppsFlyer, Autodesk, i3D.net, InnoGames, Numi (CR Studios), SuperScale, UberStrategist, Xsolla and Yahaha Studios, with partners MeetToMatch, Neogames and Rehaboo!.
Become a Nordic Game partner
Nordic Game would not be celebrating its debut Helsinki edition this fall without the tremendous support of our sponsors and partners. Many of them have already signed-up for our 2022 events, but we’re always ready to welcome new partners.
Slush has grown from a single gathering in Helsinki to a series of events organised all around the world. The crown-jewel event is the annual Slush event, but Slush also hosts smaller get-togethers around the globe.
It all started in 2008 in Helsinki with a one-day affair made up of around 250 people. While the size of the Slush event has grown by leaps and bounds, the goal has stayed the same: focus on how best to serve start-up ecosystems across the world.
As a company, Slush serves start-ups, founders and investors through the main annual Slush event as well as Slush products: start-up media Soaked by Slush, online community Node by Slush and smaller global events Slush’D.
About the Nordic Game conference
Nordic Game is the leading games conference in Europe, and 2022 marks its twenty-first and twenty-second editions, as well as our return to historic Slagthuset and debut in Helsinki.
