Nazha， New Premiere Record

On July 21st, “Nazha ” held a premiere with thousands of audience in Chengdu. The director Jiaozi(Dumpling) shared the 17-year behind-the-scenes story engaged in animation production and his intension: “There is no fear that the film will not satisfy the audience.”

Since the opening of the ” Nazha “, the Douban score has risen from 8.6 to 8.7, the score of the Taobao ticket has risen from 9.5 to 9.6, and the score of the Cat’s Eye has risen from 9.6 to 9.7, which has set a new record for domestic animated films. On July 26th, the film was officially released nationwide.

” Nazha ” is the director’s first animated film. He held a variety of positions from script to production, from art to special effects,. In the dir’ctor’s eyes “there is no shortcut for movie but persistence.” Like the shot of the Jiangshan Society, which is popular among the audience, had been working on 4-monthwith total 1318 special effects by the best artists. It’s up to 80% of the all vfx shots.

Jiaozi also shared his personal experience of  “not accepting the fate” that he graduated from Huaxi Medical University (now Sichuan University Medical College) and did not find a “stable” job in the eyes of others. He instead turned to the animation industry. He said that they are very grateful for the experience of medical education, “the logic that helps write scripts”, and the persistence are all from the university time. For the super-high reputation of the film, the director repeatedly thanked the audience for their support of the film, and said that “though the film itself is not perfect,  the audience’s tolerance and recognition is the biggest motivation”. He is looking forward to more works in the future.
