Effect Awards is Here: Submit Your Work and Enter the Wonderland!

As we were getting prepared for Effects Montreal 20 and embellishing it with more and more features, we wondered “ what could ramp up the excitement to the highest degree possible?” We all, simultaneously, shouted “Awards!”. Yes, nothing like a juicy glowing award can rush dopamine into our brains, driving us to work around the clock to outperform the competition. The Effects Awards is not just for winning, rather, it can be your first step into Wonderland. So, where is the white rabbit?

Now that we have piqued your curiosity, let’s talk more about the awards itself. Well, Effects Awards 20 shall present 5 awards to 5 of the most courageous volunteers to enter Wonderland:

Alice Prize for “1st in 3D Animation and Visualization”

Hatter prize for “1st in Visual Effects”

Cheshire Cat prize for “1st in Games”

Caterpillar prize for “1st in AR / VR”

March Hare prize for “1st in 3D Motion Graphics”

All of which include a monetary 1500 CAD award, a myriad of prizes from the sponsors, and the golden ticket to Effects 2021 (flight-accommodation included).

Now it’s time for the rules! Don’t be scared, Wonderland embraces you with an open heart and only asks you a few favors so you could have a fabulous time!

First of all, be Alice! You followed the White Rabbit called “Being an Artist” and you can hop in because you love discovering wonder worlds!

In Wonderland, your artwork can consist of projects that are completed, in progress, sketches, prototypes or team works.

Each area of the Effects Awards is like a door to this exuberant wonderland. Enter the door that you feel a strong passion for.

Being a member of a team is exciting. It should be noted that in Wonderland every team must have a representative and you can enter once you introduce your representative.

Don’t think too much! Nothing comes outta overthinking! Do it! Press the button and fly. The biggest successes always start with the pushing of the smallest buttons.

Who Can Embark?

Wonderland is on the lookout for buncha amateur Alice! You’re at the right place if you have less than a year of experience in each of the five sections of the contest. The experts have already been discovered. This is the opportunity for you as an undiscovered artist to embark on this voyage.

White Knights of Wonderland

Without our unique sponsors, there would surely be no Wonderland! We were lucky enough to make our contest with the help of such wonderful people. Like the white knights, they helped us on the chessboard and fought alongside us to win.

Effects Awards offers 4 different sponsorship opportunities, namely, an ultimate 13000 CAD package that makes your brand the exclusive sponsor with many exciting options in your disposal, a 3000 CAD representative’s speech at the awards ceremony, a 1500 CAD sponsor trailer at the awards ceremony, and a 5900 CAD dinner party that puts your brand in the spotlight.
