Discover the International Animation Film Festival’s Programme for the General Public
Last month, the Annecy Festival announced its Official Selection. Now, it’s time to reveal the programme for the general public. It’s bursting with rich and diverse delights aimed at all audiences, young and old alike, newbies, amateurs and enthusiasts.
THE OFFER FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC
The Annecy Festival is a unifying moment for Annecy locals, and it sets the summer in the city off with a swing. Festivities kicked off in the afternoon on Sunday 9th June with the Annecy s’anime screenings, previews, open-air screenings and a host of other events and entertainment! Something for everyone, young and old alike!

The Festival, in partnership with the City of Annecy, also wants to take the opportunity to raise awareness about inclusion, diversity and difference by means of animation film. On Wednesday 12th June, in Seynod, there will be conferences, screenings as well as workshops open to everyone as part of the Difference Animates the Festival programme. Additionally, as part of the Disability and Mobility initiative, some screenings will be available in subtitled versions for the deaf and hard of hearing.
OPEN-AIR SCREENINGS
Rediscover some classic animation films as well as some of the Festival’s award-winning feature films from previous years at the traditional open-air screenings. There will be no less than 14 screenings awaiting the spectators on Le Pâquier.
For young viewers, from 8:00 pm the following films will be shown on a daylight screen:
Sunday 9th June: Athleticus (exclusive episodes from Season 4) exceptionally at 7:30 pm
The evening will continue in musical style with ARTE Karaoke hosted by Aline Afanoukoé and DJ Da Vince will pump it up from 8:00 pm.
Monday 10th June: Dounia: The Great White North
Tuesday 11th June: Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie
Wednesday 12th June: Le Grand Voyage de Gouti
Thursday 13th June: SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run
Friday 14th June: Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation
Saturday 15th June: “Once Upon a Time… 45 Years of Animation with Maestro”
From 10:15 pm it’s time for the big screen evenings, also on Le Pâquier:
Sunday 9th June: Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness
Monday 10th June: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
Tuesday 11th June: How to Train Your Dragon
Wednesday 12th June: Despicable Me 3
Thursday 13th June: Wolfwalkers
Friday 14th June: The Lion King
Saturday 15th June: Chicken for Linda!
Discover the Festival screenings throughout the city from 10:15 pm: Robot Dreams, at the Place Chorus in Cran-Gevrier, Sirocco and the Kingdom of Air Streams in Seynod’s Town Hall square, Leap! in the square in front of the Château d’Annecy and The Inventor in the Vignières Pommaries park.
The open-air screenings are free, accessible to everyone with no need to reserve. From Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th June.
