Chile will be present in the hybrid format at the Big Festival, the most important showcase for games in Latin America.
From the 6th to the 10th of July, ten Chilean game companies was present in virtual format at this important Latin American event in the games sector.
The ten members of the Chilean delegation joined the hundreds of programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals and other actors involved in the development of interactive games, will be present in a virtual way with the objective of exchanging ideas and establishing networks of contact for future business.
The companies of the Chilean delegation are: Time Hunters SpA, Linked Guardians, Estudio Mezcla, AN Games, Niebla Games, Micropsia Games, Bekho Team, Dreams of Heaven Games, Smarto Club, Chercan Games.
A young industry that seeks its international consolidation
For the third consecutive time, a delegation of Chilean game development companies was present, supported by ProChile, the export promotion agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, at “Big Festival”.
It is a dynamic growth sector, which currently comprises more than 70 companies that work mainly on their own intellectual property projects, but also for third parties.
According to preliminary reports by the Chilean Videogames Association, in 2020, the sector’s total sales reached US$ 5.9 million. 90% of this figure corresponds only to exports. This meant an increase over the previous year.
The consolidation of this industry is directly linked to its promotion at an international level.
For this reason, Big Festival is considered one of the most relevant fairs for this industry that develops mainly for PC, Cell Phones (Android/IOS), Consoles (XBOX (One, Series X/S), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, PSvita, WiiU, 3Ds), web (HTML5, WebGL, Facebook) and augmented/virtual reality.
