Blizzard’s Animation “Diablo” is in Production

Blizzard Entertainment, the animation company delayed by the game, is likely to animate another IP after it made a movie based on the IP “Warcraft”. According to foreign media, Blizzard seems to have cooperated with Netflix to adapt the “Diablo” series into animation.
According to the foreign media Variety, Andy, the founder of Boom! Studios in the United States, answered a question from a fan on Twitter about whether he participated in the adaptation of “Diablo” into animation and accidentally exposed the truth.
“What I can confirm is that I did write an outline for the production of the new Diablo animation series for Activision and Netflix. It’s very exciting, I hope that it will be realized.”
Though this post has been deleted by Andy, it has already left a trace on the great and horrible network, confirming that Activision and Netflix are still in their confidential phase of cooperation, and that this animation may most likely to be produced.
Having created three famous game IP of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo, Blizzard has accumulated tens of millions of player fans worldwide over the past decade, and the background stories about Tyrael, Seven Great Demon Lords and Nephalem in Diablo arouse the players’ interest. The animated short “DIABLO Ⅲ : Anger” launched in 2012 made many players anticipate the animated series of Diablo.
Although neither Activision, Netflix nor Blizzard have responded positively to Andy’s announcement, I believe that since its coming out in 1996 nearly 20 years ago, judging from Activision’s operations over the years, I believe Blizzard should be unwilling to make animation of bad quality based on such classic IP though it is unlikely to make an animation for itself.
