Berlinale – European Film Market: First Edition of “Games to Screen: Showcase of French IPs”

Join the first-ever “Games to Screen: Showcase of French IPs” at the Berlin Film Market on February 13, 2026. Organized by the Institut français d’Allemagne, in partnership with the CNC and with the support of the European Film Market (EFM), this is an opportunity to discover video games with strong potential for screen adaptation.
The CNC, through its Attractiveness Department and the “Game France” label, is partnering with the Institut français d’Allemagne to launch the “Games to Screen: Showcase of French IPs” initiative at the EFM during the Berlinale on February 13, 2026.
This innovative format is dedicated to French video game intellectual properties (IP) with high potential for adaptation into films and series. It aims to bridge the audiovisual and video game sectors to foster the emergence of new stories on screen.
It presents a unique opportunity for international producers to meet French creative talents and explore their unique creative universes.
Key highlights of the event include:*
Pitch Session (1 hour)
French publishers and studios will present their games, focusing on narrative worlds, visual identity, themes, and adaptation potential.
One-on-One Matchmaking Sessions (1 hour)
Individual meetings between French game studios/publishers and producers will be organized to explore specific adaptation opportunities and discuss development prospects.
Case Study or Professional Workshop (to be confirmed)
A dedicated segment will cover transmedia storytelling and cross-media development, or feature retrospective discussions on existing video game screen adaptations.
Networking Reception
A dedicated networking period will allow participants to continue discussions, build connections, and foster long-term collaborative relationships.
