Mexican Ninja Sharpens Its Blade With a Deadlier Panda Boss and an Overhauled Combat Feel

The latest demo update rebuilds the panda fight from the ground up, expands the skill tree and tightens every moment of the brawl ahead of the game’s 2026 launch.
Bucharest, Romania — Amber Studio has rolled out a major new update to the Mexican Ninja demo, headlined by a fully revamped panda boss and a sweeping pass over the game’s combat feel as the 2.5D roguelike beat ’em up drives toward its 2026 release on Steam.
Set in Nuevo Tokyo, a chaotic world where Mexican Narcos and Japanese Yakuza fused into a single corrupt ruling class, the Narkuzas, Mexican Ninja is a fast, chaotic brawler that’s easy to learn yet rewards real mastery. This update doubles down on what makes it sing: precise, readable combat and the kind of polish that turns button-mashing into something sharper.
Fans of Absolum will recognize the game’s commitment to fusing the classic side-scrolling brawler with a modern roguelike loop, but its DNA reaches further back to the arcade beat ’em up revival of Streets of Rage 4 and the retro swagger of Shredder’s Revenge. Every run reshuffles the streets of Nuevo Tokyo, with new builds, spirit powers and outrageous Mexican Jutsus shaping how you fight.
At its heart, Mexican Ninja lives or dies on feel, the snap of a parry, the weight of a hit, the rhythm of a run that’s always one mistake from disaster. This update is a sharpening of exactly that and it starts with the fight players have been talking about most.

What’s New in This Update
- Leading the charge is a top-to-bottom revamp of the panda boss, now packing deadlier attacks, smarter combos and a far better-designed fight that will put every player’s parry timing to the test. Around it sits a broad pass over the combat itself, with wide-ranging tweaks to controls and the moment-to-moment action that make every slash and dodge feel sharper. The intro tutorial has also been reworked to end on a bigger, more dramatic note, setting the tone before the brawl begins.
- Progression and balance got plenty of attention too. El Cascos has been hit with the nerf hammer, so ninjas will slice through him a little easier, while new Jutsu upgrades and an expanded, reworked skill tree open up more ways to build your fighting style. A healthy round of bug fixes rounds it all out for a smoother, cleaner run.
Key Features

- Rogue-Lite Chaos — Randomized runs, trash-talking duels and weapons that get muy personal.
- Spirit Animal Skill Trees — Build around Blazing Talons, Angry Early Bird, Morning Squawk and more.
