About NODE: An award-winning sci-fi adventure

Originally released in August 2025 and awarded the Grand Prix at the Busan Indie Connect (BIC) Festival, NODE is an atmospheric sci-fi adventure set in the decaying heart of a Cold War nuclear complex. Players command a lone robot tasked with navigating a Soviet ruin teetering on the edge of catastrophe, sequencing actions to master timeline-based puzzles and unravel a cosmic mystery that holds humanity’s fate. Combining handcrafted environments, rich environmental storytelling, and a branching narrative, the game features as much optional content as the main story, deeply rewarding players who choose to explore beyond the straightforward path to uncover its hidden secrets.

As part of the update, the game now features two completely different control modes: The original “Timeline” mode is a unique take on puzzle-platforming, designed for players who enjoy challenge and precision, where the player programs the robot through a command line, plans each jump, switches, and dodges across a timeline, and then execute the sequence remotely to navigate hazardous environments and complex checkpoints. Every puzzle is designed as a methodical challenge focused on planning, timing, and observation.

The new “Platformer” mode offers a more traditional way to play the game, where the player controls the robot directly in real time. Rather than focusing on puzzle-solving and precision gameplay, the experience shifts toward story and exploration.

The update also includes a new Save System, with both automatic and manual save options, allowing players to approach the experience at their own pace, as well as full support for ultrawide and widescreen displays.

“NODE was designed to be an immersive and atmospheric journey, but we realised Timeline mode’s indirect inputs created a mechanical barrier for some players who just wanted to run, jump, and react to this world in real time. By introducing Platformer mode, we aren’t replacing our original vision – we’re expanding it. Players now have the freedom to choose exactly how they want to tackle the mysteries of the Antarii.” – Lapsus Games.

NODE: The Last Favor of the Antarii is available on Steam for $14.99/€14.99/£11.99 for the base game, and $19.99/€19.99/£17.99  for the Deluxe Edition, which includes the game’s beautiful and haunting soundtrack. Plus, you can currently get 30% off both as part of the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase.
