2024 China International Risk Forum and China Finance Review Joint Conference

The 2024 China International Risk Forum and China Finance Review International Conference, a prestigious academic event that brings together global wisdom and focuses on financial innovation and risk management, concluded successfully at Nanjing University, a historic institution, on June 15-16, 2024. The event was hosted by Nanjing University and organized by the School of Engineering Management, Nanjing University, with the support of China Finance Review International Journal, the Modern Risk Institute, and the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). The conference also received support from the School of Finance, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, and the Zeno Finance Economic and Financial Database. During the conference, two keynote speeches, 66 parallel session discussions, and 198 selected paper presentations attracted over 600 professors, researchers, financial elites, and students from around the world to jointly explore cutting-edge topics in finance, exchange ideas, and spark intellectual sparks.

The conference specially invited Professor Jiang Wei from Emory University in the United States, and Li Yang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and dean of the National Institute of Finance and Development, to deliver insightful keynote speeches, leading participants to delve deeply into the future trends of financial technology and financial markets. The keynote speeches were hosted by Professor Li Xindan and Yu Honghai from the School of Engineering Management.

A total of 1042 submissions were received from more than 10 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, etc. Through the careful evaluation and rigorous selection by the program committee, 198 outstanding papers stood out and were presented on site at the conference. Senior experts and outstanding young scholars served as session chairs and paper commentators, not only enhancing the professionalism and interaction of the conference, but also providing valuable guidance and suggestions for the paper authors. At the same time, to recognize academic excellence, the conference established six Best Paper Awards and two Contribution Awards, and the award ceremony was hosted by Professor Wu Youchang from the University of Oregon. In the context of “accelerating the construction of a financial powerhouse, comprehensively strengthening financial supervision, improving the financial system, optimizing financial services, preventing and resolving risks, and unswervingly following the path of China’s unique financial development and driving high-quality development of the country’s financial sector,” the theme of “financial risk management” at this conference is timely and has significant implications for advancing theoretical research in the financial field, building a more stable and healthy market environment, and exploring China’s unique path of financial development.
