First Look At Its ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ Theme Park

Universal Orlando Resort, already a haven for magical, mythical creatures and legends, will unveil a new land filled with dragons and Vikings. Universal has revealed the first extensive look at How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, one of five new worlds that will be part of a brand-new theme park “Universal Epic Universe” opening at Universal Orlando Resort in 2025.Other upcoming parks include Celestial Park, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic and Dark Universe.

“How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk” land is set to open in 2025.

The Isle of Berk is based on the hugely popular Dreamworks Animation franchise, itself based on the same-named kids books by Cressida Cowell, that has grossed $1.63 billion at the global box office across three films. Partnered with Universal Creative and art directors at Dreamworks Animation and Universal Pictures, it will feature a pair of 40-foot-tall Viking statues, three new rides, a live show, an interactive play area, character meet-and-greets, Viking-themed restaurants and amenities, and tons of themed merchandise.

Previously announced, Celestial Park will include duel-launch coaster Starfall Racers, undersea-inspired fine dining at Atlantic, shopping at Nintendo Super Star Store, pan-Asian cuisine in a perpetual twilight setting at The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant and Constellation Carousel, where guests ride on constellation-inspired carriages that rotate 360-degrees and elevate 6 feet in the air.

The Isle of Berk’s live musical show is titled The Untrainable Dragon and is adapted from another show already being performed at Universal’s theme park in Beijing.
