Xbox’s Grounded Is Getting Its Own Animated Series

Grounded wasn’t the game many Obsidian fans were looking for when it was first announced, but the survival game has come a long way in Early Access and has impressed many during that time. Grounded is finally set to fully launch in September, but the main game won’t be the only way to experience the backyard, as an animated series is also on the way.
Developed by Obsidian, Grounded is an online cooperative multiplayer game that focuses on kids who have been shrunken down to the size of insects. The kids have to work together to survive all of the horrors found in the backyard, including spiders, ants, and other creatures. The game has been in early access for years, and is finally getting a 1.0 release this September.
the series, like the game, stars four friends who discover shrinking technology that zaps them to mere inches tall. The teenagers must now survive in a backyard laden with dangerous insects, spiders, and other threats while unraveling a corporate conspiracy threatening the town.
“The team at Obsidian have created an incredible world that has already grabbed the attention of the gaming community,” says Carl Whiteside of MD, WP/SC Productions. “We are excited to work with our incredible partners to bring the story to life in an animated series.”
The Grounded series has no announced cast, release window, or streaming platform. Meanwhile, the video game is only a couple of months from its full launch after spending two years in early access. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
