U.K. Cinemas Ban Formal Attire As #GentleMinions Meme Results In Despicable Behavior

Groups of young UK teens in suits have been banned in some of the movie theatres in the United Kingdom during the screening of ‘Minions: The Rise Of Gru’
According to a BBC report, it has been claimed that #gentleminions trend-following teenagers disrupt movie screenings by shouting and hurling objects. A huge group of teenage boys who go by the title “The Gentleminions,” have become popular for recording themselves in suits as they watch the most recent instalment of the Despicable Me movie.
It is not clear where the trend originated but the #gentleminions videos show suited groups attending the screenings and copying the main character, supervillain Felonius Gru, and his signature hand gesture.
In response, cinemas have started banning the favored outfit of the #GentleMinions. A moviegoer at an Odeon Cinema location snapped a photo (below) of a sign posted on the entrance to the building which prohibited any guests in formal attire from attending The Rise of Gru.
Movie studio Universal Pictures, which produced the film, has endorsed the #gentleminions trend, tweeting “to everyone showing up to @Minions in suits: we see you and we love you”.
