COMMANDOS: MISSION SUCCESS WITH TOPIC AND SBS

Leading French distributor Lagardère Studios Distribution (A Mediawan company) is delighted to announce the sale of the hit thriller Commandos to TOPIC in the USA and Canada and SBS in Australia, after an impressive launch on NPO3 in August.

“Commandos is in the top 5 list of Dutch content for drama…and among the top 10 for all Dutch programs (documentaries, etc.). These are the regular ratings for NPO 3, both linear and online. But on top of these regular ratings, with a million streams in only three months for online-on-demand, Commandos did more than fantastic!” says Mylene Verdurmen, Head of Drama at AVROTROS.

Produced by NL Film in collaboration with AVROTROS and NPO3, Commandos (10 x 45’) is a complex thriller series combining the suspense and action of a whodunit with an existential character drama.

Pitch:

After a failed covert mission in Nigeria, Commander John de Koning is adjusting to civilian life when two members of his old platoon die in suspicious circumstances. A deadly game of cat-and-mouse ensues when he learns the killer is one of his own men. Testing the loyalty of these highly trained ex-soldiers who’ve gone from hunter to hunted, John must confront some dark secrets from his past as he finds himself fighting a war that could cost him his buddies, his family and his life.
