ANiMPACT Standards Kick Off Pilot Testing Phase, European Animation Studios & Producers Invited to Participate

The ANiMPACT initiative, jointly spearheaded by CineRegio, Ecoprod and Green Film, has officially launched its pilot testing phase for its newly formulated sustainable animation production standards, calling on European animation producers and studios to take part in real-scenario verification and jointly perfect the world’s unified sustainable animation certification system.

After two years of intensive research, consultation and industrial coordination, the ANiMPACT standards have been jointly polished by sustainability specialists, animation production teams, institutional representatives and funding agencies, gathering participation from more than 110 organizations across 30 countries. Built on extensive multi-stakeholder discussions, the system aims to create a unified, authoritative and globally acknowledged set of norms to standardize eco-friendly, low-carbon and sustainable workflows within the animation industry.

Now the initiative opens public recruitment for the pilot test. Qualified animation creators will apply their tailored 2D and 3D sustainability standards to their ongoing projects under actual production environments, record practical implementation effects, and submit targeted feedback on operational difficulties, optimization suggestions and practical applicability. All collected feedback will serve as the core reference to revise, refine and finalize the official global certification standards of ANiMPACT.

Eligibility & Core Requirements for Pilot Participants

  1. Project Scope: All 2D and 3D animation works are acceptable, with no restrictions on runtime, creation format and genre; international co-productions are encouraged to apply.
  2. Production Schedule: The applied project shall be fully completed or enter the advanced production stage no later than June 2027.
  3. Qualification Threshold: The lead producer or primary studio in charge of the project must be registered and headquartered within Europe.
